Smithsonian Beyond Bollywood

Pawan Dhingra helped bring the stories of Indian Americans to the Smithsonian through Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation.

As curator, he led the vision and creation of the groundbreaking exhibition, which explored the heritage, everyday experiences, and diverse contributions of Indian immigrants and Indian Americans to American life. On view at the National Museum of Natural History from 2014 to 2015, the exhibition also became an opportunity to build a lasting collection and share these stories with a national audience.
